Pink Street Umbrellas (Lisbon), oil on stretched canvas, 20” x 16”.

While walking the streets of Lisbon, Portugal, this summer, we happened upon Pink Street - technically Rua Nova do Carvalho. The road was literally painted pink and was lined with bars and restaurants. In days gone by it was part of the Red Light District, and now it’s a must-see place when visiting Lisbon. The sun shining on the hanging umbrellas, the geometric arrangement of the angles, and the overload of brilliant colors created a stunning, breathtaking sight. I knew immediately that I had to make this painting.
